Asterisk PBX is the answer

Voice to text with Asterisk

A child as yet unable to write, and therefore unable to use a computer, will one day soon be able to make a phone call to Telexa.net and say, "Wikipedia Maple Syrup". Alexa will then read the article over the phone. The same will be true for adults without computers.

This functionality is available almost out of the box with Asterisk, an open source PBX long in use.  If you are interested in using this functionality, or if you are a developer interested in participating in the project, please contact me at alanlongley@quantcorner.com or call 973-634-7578.

Asterisk uses channel drivers. The channel driver 'chan_motif' implements the jingle protocol, which includes the ability to connect to Google Voice. Google Voice markets accurate speech to text at a cost of about $12.50 for ten hours.
